Who is that behind you?
Paranoia on the rise, experts say
If you think they’re out to get you, you’re not alone. [snip]
“In a world full of threat, it may be kind of beneficial for people to be on guard. It’s good to be looking around and see who’s following you and what’s happening,” Combs said. “Not everybody is trying to get you, but some people may be.”
The question is not, “Are you paranoid,” but “Are you paranoid enough?”
Just asking!

How a Non “gun free zone” works
…and kids, this is the way it works!
80-year-old John Wayne
fan puts attacker in hospitalInvestigators say they were definitely going to rob him - possibly even kill him.
But an 80-year-old North Texan wasn’t about to let that happen, so he took action. One of the suspects is in the hospital and both are facing charges.
Two men obviously thought James Pickett, 80, was an easy target when they showed up at his home on Saturday with a knife. [snip]
In short, even at 80, he is someone you just don’t mess with.
What the men didn’t know is Picket had taken a pistol and put it in his pocket before opening the door. [snip]
The old saw about knives at gun fights holds up.
“I think I’m a ten times better shot than and he is… But they best not come back,” he said.
If he was a good shot, there wouldn’t be a trial.

Another gun free zone shooting
Multiple Victims In N. Illinois Univ. Shooting
DE KALB, Ill (CBS) Several people have been shot on the Northern Illinois University campus. The suspect killed himself and officials say the danger has passed.
Officials confirmed that several people were shot at Cole Hall, a large lecture hall on campus, shortly after 3 p.m. and the campus was immediately placed on lockdown.
Kishwaukee Hospital reported that up to 15 people were being brought to the hospital and that three to four of those victims had suffered head wounds. [snip]
Officials said the immediate danger has passed. [snip]
Yeah, till tomorrow.
The only competent advice one can take from this sort of happening is ‘Stay out of gun free zones.’
Add some more irony, Illinois has the more draconian anti-gun laws on the books, from complete bans on handgun ownership in aeas to no carry permits and stringent long gun possession.
Works doesn’t it! Perhaps they should incorporate the British laws where they arrest and prosecute anyone who applies any self-defense measures of any level. That way they will have someone in court as a example.
Would you please not scream, go into the corner and die quietly.

Gun free zones are deadly
Even with the police right there, the shooter invades a gun free zone and shoots.
6 Dead After Gunfire at Mo. Meeting
KIRKWOOD, Mo. (AP) - A gunman with a history of acrimony against civic leaders stormed City Hall during a council meeting Thursday night, killing two police officers and three city officials before law enforcers fatally shot him, authorities said. The mayor was critically injured in the rampage.
The victims at the meeting in suburban St. Louis were killed after the gunman rushed the council chambers and began firing as he yelled “Shoot the mayor!” according to St. Louis County Police spokeswoman Tracy Panus. Two people were wounded before Kirkwood police fatally shot him, she said. [snip]
Shooting on campus. When every second counts, police are only minutes away, in this case 4 minutes.
Archived in: Gun Control, Gun Free zones, Moonbats, Personal safetyBATON ROUGE, La. - A young woman killed two female students in a college classroom at a vocational college Friday, then killed herself, police said.
The students apparently were shot in their seats in the second-floor classroom at Louisiana Technical College, Sgt. Don Kelly said.
Officers ran into the building within four minutes of the first 911 call, which came at 8:36 a.m., he said.
“There was mass pandemonium, people running,” Kelly said. “One officer — the first into the classroom — told me he could still smell gunpowder.”
The students’ names and ages were not immediately released, and it was not clear whether the shooter also was a student.
The school offers classes in a dozen subjects including early childhood education, practical nursing, drafting and welding. [snip]
