Patrick/Kraft Quid Pro Quo?
Governor Patrick says there’s no quid pro quo between he and Robert Kraft. It’s just a coincidence that large donations to Patrick and the Democratic Party are quickly followed with taxpayer dollars into Mr. Kraft’s pocket:
Last year, Robert Kraft gave similar donations to Patrick and the party as the state was designating his property a special growth district. The donations were Kraft’s first to the governor and first in four years to the party. {emphasis mine}
And how fortuitius that another big donation follows yet more government green for the Krafts:
State records show Kraft and his wife, Myra, each gave the maximum $500 campaign contribution to Patrick and Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray last month. The Krafts also each gave the state Democratic Party the maximum $5,000 donation.
So, let’s see. The Kraft’s donate $12,000, money they probably found in the couch cushions, and in return they gained an economic growth district and a $9 million bridge. Now that’s what I call ROI. But don’t worry because it’s all above board…Wink…Wink…Nudge…Nudge. Nothing but Beacon Hill business as usual to see here.

Patricks Approves Movie Star Tax Breaks
If MA elects Deval Patrick again, there is absolutely no hope for this state. While spiking the sales tax 25% because the state can’t live without the revenue, he’s also renewing tax breaks for movie stars. Not very progressive of you, Governor Patrick. After all, who do you suppose is struggling more–Brad Pitt or the working people of the Commonwealth?
And the reason he’s doing it is absolutely classic:
Beacon Hill sources said Patrick was responding to complaints Hollywood honchos lodged with the state film office that the proposed cap on star salaries was a major rewrite of tax law.
When Patrick closed the “tax loopholes” on businesses that actually operate full-time in the state and employ a lot more people here than Hollywood does, those businesses were whiners. They needed to pay their fair share. But let the movie execs complain, and he’ll move heaven and earth to get a hundred people employed for a few months.
This guy is unbelievable and needs to be run out of town on a rail.
