A solution to VT & MA tax shortfalls

CA might decide to tax the porn industry. Given the whores we have in office here, a tax of this nature is in order.

Porn Tax Considered As Solution To Budget Shortfall

LOS ANGELES - California state lawmakers are considering an unusual idea to solve the state’s huge budget shortfall: Tax pornography.

The idea was proposed by a state assemblyman, and would impose a 25 percent tax on the production and sales of pornographic videos — the vast majority of which are made in southern California. [snip]

All news clips of the VT and MA legislative and executive actions then produce revenue. Compared to these chunks of degradation, CA porn looks like Mother Theresa at Vespers.

Another way to go broke

It costs the government $134 million to make $80 million worth of pennies.

…a field trip to the US Mint and found out that to make $80 million worth of pennies, it costs the government $134 million. And to make around $60 million in nickels costs $124 million. The US Mint says this is because the prices for nickel, zinc, and copper have shot up a lot in the past few years. [snip]

Another reason the politicians shouldn’t be allowed to run the government.

Toss them out of office, both sides

Boehner: Republicans need to make sacrifices

White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. — House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) challenged House Republicans to make a few sacrifices in the next year that will help the GOP sell their agenda to voters in the fall elections. [snip]

The reform proposals include a one-year moratorium on earmarks for all Republicans, the creation of a special panel to review the process, including the abuses that have occurred, and a litany of smaller guidelines to curtail wasteful earmarks or member-requested projects that benefit campaign contributors or other private entities. [snip]

“With all this happening in their daily lives, they’re watching the news — and they see politicians in Washington WASTING their money. While families are struggling to make ends meet, they look up and see politicians using taxpayer money to build monuments to themselves … funding hippie museums … letting entitlement spending spiral out of control. ” [snip]

“In 1994 we made sacrifices. We gave up perks. We gave up privileges. We took risks. We thought big. We rolled dice. We need to go through this process today and tomorrow with the same mentality.”

“If we woke up suddenly tomorrow and found ourselves in the majority, would we be any different? How would we be different from the Republicans of the past AND the Democrats of the present? If we can’t answer these questions for Americans over the course of the next year, we will stay in the minority. ”

“If we’re going to pick up seats in 2008, we have to strike a chord in the hearts of the American people — our base, and Republican-leaning independents alike. We cannot win by singing the same old tune. Washington is broken. We need to give the American people reasons to believe we’ll fix it. ”

“We’re not starting from scratch. We had a good year last year. In 2006 we warned the American people a Democratic Congress would be like this: a majority devoted to higher taxes, bigger government, and retreat. In 2007 we gave the American people reasons to believe we were right. We showed that the Democrats are exactly who we thought they’d be. This is something we can build on. Our challenge in 2008 is to give Americans reasons to believe we’ll be different. ”
[snip]

The mushrooms are full, Boehner. Take your tales of weeping and woe away. If the Donks took complete control of congress and the presidency, we would be in the same fiscal condition and slightly more Balkanized.

This came through after I put the post together. Sum up what the RINO’s feel they need to do!

House GOP shelves earmark moratorium plan

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – House Republicans stopped short of imposing a yearlong moratorium on their earmarks Friday and instead called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to establish a bipartisan panel to work on reducing “pork-barrel spending.”

Jumpstarting the Economy

Looks like we are going to get at least $300 to splurge on gewgaws and knickknacks to propel the economy forward.

Seeing how other countries help their citizens should be instructive. Was this a sub-prime mortgage?

We’re getting our own money back with rancor. The Donkephants wish not to give it to the individuals who earned and paid the taxes.

Understand, this will be taxed as income next year for all those who pay taxes. Those who never pay taxes could care less about that.

I suggest everyone put the money into savings and not spend it. You’re going to need every cent since the money isn’t in DC. Taxes and interest on T-Bills will go up to pay for this worthless extravagance.

Deval Patrick’s Casino Derangement Syndrome

In an effort to make himself the education governor, Deval Patrick is proposing an additional $368 million dollars in spending today.  The teachers’ unions must be grinning ear to ear as the millions invested in Patrick’s campaign come back to them 100 fold in the form of our taxes.  But I seriously doubt this proposal is driven by Governor Patrick’s desire to educate the children.

In fact, my guess is you can throw out the majority of his proposals.  He’s not the education governor, or the transportation governor, or the life sciences governor.  He’s the casino governor because there are only 2 logical explanations for the governor’s spending orgy in the midst of a $1.3 billion dollar deficit.  He’s deranged, or he’s throwing all these proposals against the wall to pressure the legislature into action on the casino issue.

The smart money says the governor has Casino Derangement Syndrome (CDR).  God only knows why.  Even if you use his revenue numbers, they don’t come anywhere near filling the spending gap he’s proposing by throwing everything from beach cleaning equipment to billions for transportation against the wall.
