Making Orwell proud
This article is one of the better pieces of Orwellian newspeak in some time. The rising rate of decline should be the title or how about the declining rate of rise? Is that better (snicker)?
U.S. job losses slow in May, fueling recovery hopes
The Labor Department said on Friday that U.S. employers cut 345,000 jobs in May, the fewest since September and far less than economists had forecast. They cut 504,000 jobs in April.
However, the unemployment rate raced to 9.4 percent, the highest since July 1983, from 8.9 percent in April, partly because people who had given up looking for work re-entered the labor market, a sign economic confidence was returning. [snip]
Yeah the great motivator might be the last unemployment check arrives in two weeks, followed by a foreclosure notice and the repoman, always sure signs of optimism.
The relatively small decline in payrolls fell far shy of the 520,000 drop expected by financial markets, sparking market rumors that the government had published incorrect figures, speculation dismissed by Labor Department officials. [snip]
While the job losses in May were spread across almost all sectors, the pace of layoffs was slower than in prior months.
Construction jobs fell 59,000 after dropping 108,000 in April, likely as a result of the government’s $787 billion stimulus package.[snip]
You might want to ask YOUR Congressional Critters, why they voted to give stimulus funds to illegals working jobs replacing US unemployed workers.
Not only does that keep our unemployment numbers up, but also that money goes to MEXICO & other CENTRAL AMERICAN Countries.
Yeah, out of our economy where it helps us not!

The link below is interesting.
May’s total unemployment figures were 60% higher than the Obamatrons’ prediction of unemployment with his “recovery plan” and is a larger increase than from March to April.
His state media bootlickers are practicing creative economics.

And…..only 6-8% of the stim-pak has been issued. Wow, I’m so glad the Obama admin has come to our rescue.
