Veterans Day

Ripley At The Bridge

[snip]
It was Easter 1972 when 20,000 North Vietnamese troops and 200 tanks were heading for the South. Only a bridge separated the force from Ripley and 600 South Vietnamese soldiers. So Ripley blew up the bridge in a fashion we weren’t interested in reading about in 1972. [snip]

Yeah, we were a bit to busy screaming baby killers at 20 year old kids, blaming them for the ills of the world.

We could have looked at the strength exhibited by American youth instead.

In honor of our brave men and women serving our country, I salute thee.

John Ripley proves even a retched war like Vietnam can produce heroes.

I always wondered if the creators of the “Alien” movies named their leading lady after this war hero?
