Fans Lambast Oprah Over Palin
Oprah has seriously damaged her brand. After years of preaching empowerment to women, lots of them are wondering why Oprah wouldn’t want a guest like Sarah Palin. However, according to Oprah, nobody even thought about inviting Sarah. And if you buy that whooper, Oprah says:
At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates.
Come on, Oprah, you know very well that your brand is YOU. When you endorsed Barack Obama, you threw the entire franchise behind it. The idea that the show is somehow separated from you and your personal decisions is laughable. And judging by the comments on your web site, the majority of your fans aren’t buying it either. Hat tip: InstapunditUpdate: The Oprah discussion is up to 180 pages. Guess this touched a nerve.

BRSH!!! Black Racist Sexist Hoyden!
BSRH!!! How about BullSh**Racist Husseinian
Try your own.
I could care less who Okra Windcrack has on her show. Yet another telling sign that race trumps gender.
She’s smart in terms of public relations, and knows her audience (even though she probably looks down on them, like all good libs do on those they consider “common folk” or the great unwashed.), so I”m not surprised that she wasn’t calling Gov. Palin “inauthentically female” and “a man in skirts” and other such formulations line her other, feminazi sisteren have used.
Oprah should be in an amateur booty call lineup instead of appearing on her own national TV show. Who gives these celebrities such power? Tiem to boycott the big O machine. A b*tch by any other name is still a b*tch.
What will Okra do if the Donks bring back the Fairness Doctrine? That should provide her with an interesting moment.
VW:
The “Fariness Doctrine” simply won’t apply to Okrah, or any other left-wing talker…they’ll define their shows as “education, or otherwise non-political, hence not subject to the FD.
That door swings both ways!
VW:
Fairness doctrine does not apply to programming that is “educational” or for entertainment purposes. Her show will be catagorized in one or perhaps both of those catagories. Besides, those who are interpreting and enforcing the regulations will have a natural affinity for Okrah and her political ilk, so she’ll but cut plenty o’slack.
“That door swings both ways!”
Was this a comment on Okrah’s reported playing for the other team? Not that there’s anything wrong with that… (said in a Seinfeldesque manner)
One assumes that the fairness Doctrine will produce even handedness. All that it says is that you give the opposing side equal air time. Nothing is said about how you handle them while one the air. By the same token one can produce an educational show tat cuts to the other side of the line, have authors, clergy etc. on.
Actually, I don’t think they have the guts to pass the law imposing this on the airwaves. Legislators do have to face a diverse constituency in their districts, in spite of the bug eyed loon in the House.
VW:
The Law can “say” one thing in writing, but be interpreted to be another, quite different meaning. How many black and liberal churches have been investigated by the IRS, as compared to the number of conservative, white churches? The law governing politiking from the pulpit presumably will be equally applicable to everyone, but the practical effect is that its used against conservatives.
Or, to paraphrase Uncle Joe (Stalin, that is): “It’s not the vote, its WHO counts the votes.”
