And over in Massachusetts we have Percy Dovetonsils.

Hotspur:
Who, pray tell, is Percy Dovetonsils? It wouldn’t be the illustriously dimminutive lawn statue that is Duhal Patrick, now would it?

Hey Guys,

Is there any such election rule whereby a candidate for office anywhere in New England must receive a verified minimum number of votes in order to win? That is, if all of us went to the polls and (out of, let’s say, a field of ten candidates) ignored all of them except for the one or two screamer/kickers who deserve a chance would any or all of them be disqualified for not reaching a minimum or percentage?

If we here on NER found a nobody from Ma, Vt, NH, ME, CT or RI who has revolution passion would it be possible to give him or her our microphone and then on election day encourage write-in votes for him or her?

We need Nobodys with passion and revolution in their hearts!

Bryan, Percy is a Massachusetts representative. Here’s his latest appearance on TV.

…..Otherwise, in less than a hundred days we’re going to snap the cuff s back on our own wrists chanting

“Yes, please, give me more of that for four more years!”

I don’t think so, Helen. Democracies have to ignore the non-voter and value the choice of the voter, even if there is only one of them. Candidate A gets no votes, B gets one vote; B wins.

The winner of an election must be:
1) a resident of the district in which they are running (goes for write ins)
2) a citizen if that is required
3) and receive a plurality of one (1) vote

Hotspur, right as usual.

Helen, although it bothers me, people like what is happening. It’s called a “Brave New World.”
