In a daring move to shore up he flagging anti-war creds and thrill the Code Pink Cuties:

Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey. [snip]

Of course he has no problem scrounging for votes among foreign nationals, whom I presume he’ll give amnesty and citizenship to on his first day in office.

Obama’s campaign manager said he should go where the votes are.

What’s the current pay rate for poolees who haven’t been through boot camp yet?

In my opinion, he didn’t go because the Pentagon told him he couldn’t take the press for some photos. Therefore, no need to visit the troops when there’s nothing in it for Barack.

The Pentagon said it was the Chosen’s decision to not go to see the soldiers.
