Sympathy for Hillary
It’s cathartic to say so, at least for the duration of this post.
Optimistic Patriot’s recent post on Republican pusillanimity is a counterpoint to the Punch and Judy show reeling off in the Democratic Party. The Republicans are a vast unfillable void and the Democrats are bloated with ideology, purple with venom, and their two Presidential candidates are beating each other senseless.
I have no sympathy for Obama; he’s too young to know better, but Hillary isn’t, and does. Without the character mutations of ’60’s radicalism, and the gruesome dynamic of her marriage to the detestable Bill Clinton, she might have been something infinitely more than she is today -the discard of the equally worthless and malignant Democratic Party.
Ted Kennedy sloshed to his convention down, I think, 700 delegates, but no one was demanding that he pull out, except….you know what I mean. Identity, again, with the Democrats. Identity ergo sum, no lese majeste with him. The Sorensonian-Schlesingerian axis of lackeys wouldn’t permit it. Kennedy mocked the party of women and children first, but they didn’t care. And it’s worse now; it’s the the party of children like Obama first - the golden child in the monarch’s boat, floating down the Potomac to victory.
I admire Hillary for her steadfast and determined decision to defy the herd of independent minds who demand that she go. It must be galling, however, to be undone by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and Howard Dean. Hillary was Glinda, the tall and good witch ruling over Munchkin Land, and now she’s been overthrown by a berserk Lollypop Guild junta, with pols of lesser stature.

Nothing like a warm and fuzzy group hug from the village.
Exactly, Helen, and just the right amount of irony. Nothing is more evanescent than political celebrity.

They went berserk because The Lullaby League cut them off. The Mayor is in hiding.
