A violent and deadly weekend continues in Chicago. At least 12 people have been shot, two of them killed, since Saturday morning. Two others were stabbed in a home invasion. This comes after at least 20 people were shot, four of them killed, from Friday night through early Saturday.
For a city that has strict laws on guns and no concealed carry, it seems that an inordinate amount of recreational shooting took place. All those laws and the police cannot stop this mayhem? Mayor Daley, Obama and the Illinois legislature would have you believe all these anti-gun laws work just like in Britain.
Britain banned private gun ownership that completely stopped upstanding citizens from shooting up the countryside and cities. Police work is easier too; separating the law-abiding from the criminals is simple. The criminals are the ones with guns; the citizens are the ones dead or wounded.

Revealed recently by an “official” in Bridgeport (I think) - many “illegal” guns in the city are in the possession of people who want to protect themselves from the bad guys. This note quickly disappeared from local news.
It exposes the wickedness of liberal gun-restriction policies in hot zones like Bridgeport and New Haven. Most of the kids killed by guns in New Haven are black, killed by other blacks, and in the past year, most of them have been bystanders, having nothing to do with the dispute.
It goes on year after year after year, and just this past weekend, another ridiculous zero-tolerance-for-violence protest was made on behalf of grieving black parents. Last year, 18 kids were killed by gang members, rudely ignoring the zero-tolerance libs in charge. The Great Society rolls on.
Why isn’t Hussein O home taking care of this? I guess it’s hard to fight crime when you have proven yourself a racist, and every friend or associate you have is either a terrorists or a criminal.
Richaldo, New Haven is a disaster. A gun surrender program in New Haven a couple years ago traded Target (no joke) gift certificates for the guns. Not amnesty for your record, a relief for some existing charges or some other go-straight incentive, but a damn gift certificate to a discount store. This is what the morons in charge of that city imagine to be a clearing program for guns.
One of the dead last year was a 12-year old black girl on the way home from school, shot by two 16-year olds for no stated reason whatsoever. I think the case is still pending.
The knuckle-dragging mayor, John DeStefanao, recently began issuing ID cards to illegals, one explanation for which is that illegals carry lots of cash (no bank accounts), and they’re at risk for armed robbery. Whatever one thinks of the policy, or the migration of MS-13 to the city for ID cards, DeStefano is the sort of idiot lib who thinks this reduces the crime rate.
Yale attorneys promised to defend the ID program pro bono in court; meanwhile Yale students are assaulted - one shot recently - by an unknown offender, for money.
Any future historian recording the disaster that is New Haven in 2008, will shake his head and wonder how it could happen.

Perhaps the libs should offer a gun surrender program that offers a full and complete pardon, along with wiping clean the record of any person offering a gun for disposal.
They can add Target (shouldn’t that chain be renamed as the name obviously contributes to the cycle of violence, a la the Washington Bullets) gift cards, free tacos, burritos, beans, big screen TVs and the ubiqitous 40 acres and a Lexus, later.
The February gun buyback held in Oakland was a huge success. Oakland PD offered $250 per piece, no questions asked, no ID.
Well it was for two firearms dealers first and second in line. Each brought 60 handguns from stock, probably not one worth $60. The pair legally grossed $15,000 each, netting $11,400 for their effort.

Always good to see that some licensed firearms dealers can find a way to make lemonade from lemons, at least in this case from crap handguns. It would be even better if none of the guns were even capable of firing, let alone chambering a round.
Of course, you know that the Progs will call this a loophole and demand that all people fitting the profile of a licensed gun dealer (presumeably white, male, middle-aged, wearing NRA or Vet caps) will be immediately arrested and charged with keeping an illegal armory, racism, bigotry, sexism and homophobia.
