Bury it!

When cooking up a wonderful soup, you cannot start with contaminated water.
The GOP is contaminated. Toss it and start over. I do not care where the RINOs go as long as they go.

Put McCain’s candidacy in this box and slam the lid.mccain-coffin.jpg

Looks like one of his fund raisers.

The Republican Party today is what it’s been since the late ’40’s, a refuge for people who mildly oppose the revolutionary statism and egalitarian fantasizing of the Democrat party. Big deal. Defined by what they aren’t.

Conservatives have always been a minority, and the brief period when GOP conservatives and Reagan Democrats aligned is over. That was an anomaly, anyway, and time-specific. Gingrich was a curiosity, too, and was unable to resist the need of Republicans to revert to type.

The type is mildly tax-resistant, mildly anti-state, and mildly everything else, but compulsively go-along. They have little to resist because they have very few areas of disagreement.

The Democrats have, for seventy years, been energetic and eager for the future…which means that with a thousand bad ideas, one good one might emerge. By going along it meant that a clueless Republican had a thousand to one chance of being cool, which was better than his usual chances.

Donks also give better parties, don’t slosh when they walk and didn’t splat(!) when they sat down - except for Murtha - but for the rest, they’re mostly like Mitch McConnell, Trent Lott and Bill Frist. Animated cadavers. That’s about all that one can say about Donks and Repugs.
