Sociopathy in the Press

Fascism is the Fourth Estate. About 4 fewer excesses than Stalin and Hitler combined.

An Iowahawk Special Investigative Report With Statistical Guidance from the New York Times

A Denver newspaper columnist is arrested for stalking a story subject. In Cincinnati, a television reporter is arrested on charges of child molestation. A North Carolina newspaper reporter is arrested for harassing a local woman. A drunken Chicago Sun-Times columnist and editorial board member is arrested for wife beating. A Baltimore newspaper editor is arrested for threatening neighbors with a shotgun. In Florida, one TV reporter is arrested for DUI, while another is charged with carrying a gun into a high school. A Philadelphia news anchorwoman goes on a violent drunken rampage, assaulting a police officer. In England, a newspaper columnist is arrested for killing her elderly aunt.

Unrelated incidents, or mounting evidence of that America’s newsrooms have become a breeding ground for murderous, drunk, gun-wielding child molesters? Answers are…[snip]

This is what fascists do. It is their nature!

I don’t know where journalism-as-profession rates on the F-Scale, but I suspect it’s pretty high when their weirdo behavior is acute and happening. Look at David Gregory. Like Chris Matthews, a locker room bully breaking the little kid’s glasses, but running away.

The journos I knew over thirty-five years ago were prone to hysteritcal fits of righteousness swinging back and forth from obsequious, apple-polishing self-degradation to anyone with a fragment of power, academic title, or sex appeal.

After all, what can you make of an essentially parasitic professional life, feeding on wire service releases, sociopathy, tabloid idealism and interruptions for bowel product advertisements.

Oh yeah. I haven’t looked at this in about forty years, but it should illuminate the deliberate effort to conceal liberal prejudicial idiocy under a veil of behaviorism.

It’s a complete “do you still beat your wife” effort by Rokeach (I think), to quantify fascist leanings. If you need a laugh, hit the link, but also realize that an entire generation of social studies graduates were weaned on this crap.

Good test, now I need to pin my flashes on correctly. Where’s my lint brush?
