Leahy: REAL ID Won’t Improve Security

Further proof that the Pompous Pat had a common sense by-pass operation back in 1974.

WASHINGTON — Vermont U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy said the Department of Homeland Security’s plan for secure driver’s licenses won’t improve the nation’s security.

Leahy said the REAL ID program will result in resentment, litigation and enormous costs that states will be forced to absorb. [snip]

Tell the Senator that open borders and half a state of illegals “won’t improve the nation’s security” either.
Leahy has done nothing good for this country, but he certainly porked up Vermont. He excels in cozying up to lobbyists and leaking information to prove how important he is.

VW, you got me pokin’ around the sites and I found the following link which I’m sure you’re familiar with but perhaps others are not:

N. BORDER BARRIER/FENCE/WALL. “Also of particular interest to Northern Border states during the current immigration reform debate is the push by some to lay the groundwork for a fence/wall or barrier across the 3,145-mile-long Northern Border with Canada. The immigration bill passed late last year by the House includes this provision. Senator Leahy succeeded in removing this measure — which would launch this effort by first mandating a federal study – from the immigration reform package that is now on the Senate Floor.”

Are we New Englanders concerned about this or not? It is my opinion that they most certainly are concerned, as they should be…….. but feel hapless, hopeless and helpless.

After all, what can we do?
