Boston Police Plan Door-to-Door Weapon Searches
If I told you police were going door-to-door asking for permission to search your house for weapons, you might think it was some evil Rovian plot included in the Patriot Act. But not so fast my, friend. This is what stalwart Boston liberals, those great protectors of civil liberty, are planning right here:
Civil liberties activists say they are going to reach out to Boston residents to educate them about their rights under a new police program in which detectives will ask parents to allow them to search for guns in their children’s bedrooms.
So listening to potential terrorists phone calls violates privacy rights, but “good” Boston Democrats have no problem with unsolicited door-to-door search requests without probable cause. Check.
And what’s the ACLU going to do? Nothing.
The ACLU said its campaign would include distribution of “Know Your Rights” fliers in an effort to warn people about the dangers of consenting to the searches.
Anybody want to wager on the probability of an ACLU lawsuit if this were Georgia or South Carolina? You can bet your last dollar that they’d be crying discrimination and racism because the searches are more likely to affect minorities than whites. But these are liberals with good intentions. It’s for the children, don’t you know, so the ACLU is more than happy to rollover and play dead.
I wonder if any of them make the connection between their failed social policies and their weapon search program? Doubtful.

Wannna bet this isn’t taking place in any white neighborhood. Cops would be told to get the hell of the property muy pronto.
They’re going to be rousting the Rastas. What are they going to do when they find the dope and no gun. Tup, you let them search!

Ed Davis sounds like some low-level Nazi apparatchik. A huge body of law? And I doubt they’ll show up on Beacon Hill. That’s where the ACLU builds its nests.
New Haven will follow Boston’s lead if passes legal muster. The gruesome liberal mentality behind the Great Society created this insolvable mess by subverting the integrity of two entire generations; now they’ll sterilize them again of defensive weapons. When policy fails, create more law or redefine old law to sweep up the dirt.
Let’s say it. This is an effort to reduce black-on-black gun violence. The complexities are staggering. Many of these weapons are defensive, owned by good people caught in the sludge and muck of failed liberal social policies. They’ll be swept up in the net while the clever monsters who use guns to do evil will swim past.
What a disgrace.
