9:20pm Eastern update. Here’s the roll on the Senate John Doe protection amendment, which missed the 60-vote threshold by 3 votes. Interesting facts: No Republican voted against it. GOP presidential candidate Sam “Switchback” Brownback didn’t bother to vote. Hillary voted for it. Obama sat it out:

With a few island, backwoods and obscurity problems, it’s an east and west coast, and rust-belt phenomenon. There’s the expected ganglion lib simplicity of nightcrawlers like Durbin and Harkin and Dodd, the corky brain-rot in Byrd and Lautenberg, and the crowbar-proof union of Kerry with Kennedy. VT has produced two with undiagnosed Bovine Spongiform in Leahy and Sanders, so they can’t be blamed.
This is actually encouraging. All of them from dying, or backwards or alienated (Hawaii) regions. They represent the end of something, and the sick pantomime of lib climbers who want to be somebody by standing still and posing in the wax musuem.
I am, of course, referring to the Nays.
Waxing non-PC, why should we expect the right to our lives when chance and fortune have been so intelligently quantified and controlled by the Congressional and Judicial metrics of Naysayers with such re-born divine skill?
Give ‘em credit for consistency…..
After all, just as they want “our troops” brought home “to safety”, terrorists in the mid-east deserve as much respect as terrorists here within the “safety” of our borders.
