Linaeus help!
There are certain things that people who always live on concrete should not try to identify. This goes for the cutline writer of this photo of the Tour de France. One might look at the photo before naming the botanical specimens in the image.

In the biological taxonomy of Linaeus, there’s a place for corn like this. The hierarchy of being isn’t exclusive, Woodie. If it can include Frenchmen, it can include wheatus cornicus.
“Corn” is also a generic English word for grain (maybe true for French and Spanish?) more specifically wheat and barley, if I recall correctly.
