Barack Obama is the next Abraham Lincoln?
That’s right! Barack Obama is the next Lincoln. How do we know? They both spent time in the Illinois legislature. And brace yourselves—Lincoln lived in Springfield, and Obama had a rally there. What more could you want?
The Obama hype machine is out of control. Check out some of these headlines:
In the footsteps of Abraham Lincoln
Like Lincoln Before Him, Barack Obama Looks to Save the Union
I lived in Illinois too so using media “logic” I could rightfully claim the Lincoln mantle too. I suppose the next articles will comapre Hillary and FDR. Stop the insanity.

Hey, I drove through Illinois several times…can I claim the mantle of the stovepipe-hatted wonder too?
Seriously, I recall that the election of Lincoln had something to do with one of the immediate causes of the War of Northern Aggression or Civil War, if that is your preference. Does Osama (oops, channeling Ted K there) err…Obama think that he will “save” the Union as much as Lincoln “saved” the Union?
“I suppose the next articles will compare Hillary and FDR”
Didn’t Hitlery channel Eleanor Roosevelt or Rosa Luxembourg or someone like that?
Heh. Rosa Luxembourg.
Happy Lincoln’s Birthday from the Land of Lincoln! It occurs to me that Lincoln suspended the right of Habeus Corpus among those who didn’t agree with him. Since I don’t agree with Obama do you think I might be in trouble?
Publia:
You’d probably be safe with Obama. Under Hillary, though, you’d have the right of Habeus Cadaver.
No more than Dukakis could have morphed into John Adams!

……Edwards is not personally popular with many members of the Democratic elite…..The politically viable alternative to Clinton may be Obama……
(Am I the only one who wondered if Obama’s weekend protesters may perhaps have been plants, cleverly placed? Oooo…did I say that?)If indeed this could actually have been so, such honesty would have been true!
Novak also wrote in the same article:
….Edwards’s “courage” energized DNC members Feb. 2 as Clinton’s “caution” did not…..
From the Boston Globe:
…..But Michael Goldman, a Democratic consultant, said Patrick’s cautious approach is wise, given the fact that he and his staff have limited experience navigating the difficult politics and intricate budget process on Beacon Hill. He said governors who took advantage of the honeymoon period had the political dexterity to avoid problems that can damage a newly minted administration

So much for Obama’s inexperience validation. Did someone fail to tell Lincoln “doing nothing is an option?” And Deval, the campaign is over.
If Lincoln reacted to the Civil War casualties as Obama does to the Iraq War, in which cotton field would Obama be toiling?
“If Lincoln reacted to the Civil War casualties as Obama does to the Iraq War, in which cotton field would Obama be toiling?”
VW:
As the one of the son’s of the ROP, Obama would be selling those unfortunate souls who would end up laboring in that cotton field.
