All of you hung tough

“Deep in the Heart of Texas,

The Stars at Night,

are Big and Bright,

Deep in the Heart of Texas,

The Prarie Sky, is Wide and High,

Deep in the Heart of Texas….”

As I am writing this, the Texans in D.C. are booted up, dandied up, riled up and kickin’ one up. Good for them. Wish I was down there with ‘em.

The more I hear Democrats whine about the Inaugural, the happier I get. The more I hear their fellow travelers in the MSM complain about the “lavishness,” the “expense,” the “garishness” of it all, the more jubilant I become. And so should you, for rest assured if they won, they would have flaunted their victory in our face. Nor would there have been a single complaint about all the money.

On the eve of President George Walker Bush being sworn in tomorrow, Jan. 20th, 2005, lets recall a little, just a little, what has transpired over the past year or so.

The Democrats NEVER raised as much money as they did for John Kerry, EVER.

The Democrats NEVER spent so much to win.

The Democrats NEVER put out so many attack ads.

The Democrats NEVER received so much help from Hollywood, as they did this year.

The Democrats were never so energized to defeat a Republican, as they were President Bush.

The Democrats NEVER turned out so large a vote in all their long history.

The Media NEVER unleashed a continual barrage against a President or candidate, as they did on George W. Bush.

The mainstream media NEVER so completely exposed themselves as shills for the Democrat party.

The Philadelphia Inquirer ran a 21 DAY STRAIGHT EDITORIAL BLITZ against the President.

60 Minutes featured every disgruntled former employee they could find.

Dan Rather, in his frenzy to destroy this President, went over the cliff, taking HIS career and reputation with him.

Mary Mapes has spent the last FIVE years working on the Air National Guard “story.”

I am sure you remember these stories too, these “scandals:” Paul O’Neill, “Selected, not elected,” Halliburton, Ancient treasure looted, “Too few troops,” “No plan to win the Peace,” “Bring it on,” Joe Wilson, Valerie Plame, “Alienating” the world, Driving away our “friends,” The French, Richard Clarke, “Unilateralism,” CIA leaks, State Department leaks, Anonymous, Fahrenheit 9/11, Abu Gharib Photos, Gitmo, “AWOL” in the Air National Guard, The first debate, “Quagmire,” “Another Vietnam,” Fifty dollars and over per barrel of crude, The “lost jobs,” “The jobs number,” “The worst jobs number since Herbert Hoover,” Kofi Anan pronouncing the war “illegitmate and illegal,” “NYTrogate” and the missing explosives, and lastly, right before the election, Osama’s video.

So many stories, so much written, so much aired, and all to drive this man from office. And yet, and yet………

Through it all, YOU HUNG TOUGH, you didn’t rattle. You didn’t flinch. All of you were livid at the collaboration between the media and the Democrats. But you just bided your time and waited for election day. Then you let ‘em have it. All 62 million plus of you.

Your votes told Katie Couric what you thought of her, and you told Barbara Streisand too. Michael Moore did not escape your scorn. Nor did Kofi Anan and his klepto kid Kojo. You let your votes do your talking. You shocked “old Europe.” Likewise the UN. You gave the back of your hand to 60 Minutes, Mike Wallace. Chris Matthews too. You showed your healthy disdain for Mary Mapes, and told her what she could do with her “story.” You told ‘em ALL what you thought of them, LOUD AND CLEAR.

62 million plus of you returned President George W. Bush to the White House, with the FIRST clear majority in sixteen years. There are more Republicans in the House, more too in the Senate. You ejected Tom Daschle, and so we will never have to hear him again mention the word: “concern.” Do you remember John Edwards coming out late election night, embittered, angry, venomous, promising “to fight” promising that all the “votes will be counted.” Remember all the lawyers they retained, ready, willing and able to litigate. They were eager to replay Florida. But 62 million plus of you told the Democrats to take themselves and their lawyers, and get lost.

Exit polls? You laughed at them. Nothing dissuaded you from voting.
Nothing. Not Democrat attack ads, not bogus “scandals,” not Michael Moore, not “Vote or Die.” NOTHING stopped you from voting. Not slashed tires, not Bush/Cheney HQs broken into, vandalized, computers stolen, not signs torn from your lawns, not your cars keyed because your bumper sticker identified you as Republican, Nothing broke your confidence in victory on November 2, 2004.

And now, YOUR GUY is getting sworn in tomorrow.

YOUR guy, NOT theirs.

And to all of this, I say: Make sure you celebrate tomorrow night, have a few cold ones, make yourself a margarita. Extend the celebration all weekend, because all of you DESERVE IT. And as Dick Cheney would surely add, you deserve it, BIG TIME.

“Deep in the Heart of Texas,

The Sage in Bloom is like Perfume,

Deep in the Heart of Texas,

Reminds me of, the One I Love,

Deep in the Heart of Texas….”
